Quikr NXT by far is the best online buying and selling site I have come across. I am not sure if they were the first ones to come up with the concept of selling online in India but at least to me and my family they were. BedTime Rituals

Bedtime is important to each one of us and in fact the most important time during the day. As this the time our body gets the required fuel to keep moving all throughout the day and keeps us on the move. Hence I believe that bedtime is the most crucial time for every human being, so now when it comes to the health and well-being of our little ones, compromise is just not the word. When you are a mother, the most important thing for you becomes the time when the child is at peace and when your child is able to enjoy a goodnight sleep.

I am sure, you are all wondering, why the emphasis on the night time sleep, well the answer to this is simple, because a goodnight’s sleep, helps your child stay fit and active all throughout the day. A mother literally dances with joy when she sees her child happy and active and playing around. That feeling makes a mother content of the upbringing she is giving her child.

So let us see, what all rituals are part of a child’s bedtime, I personally have a lot to share and here goes a few of them. From storytelling to singing the lullaby we have done it all to put your child to a proper and peaceful sleep. But one should not forget the most vital thing here, which is the diapers. Yes, diapers, they are the most important element part of the entire process of putting your child to sleep. 

Let me explain this to you in simple terms, now take it as this that you are an adult and who is asked to sleep with the feeling that you are most uncomfortable with. For example, sleeping with the lights on, I am sure many of us cannot do that and will not get proper sleep. In a similar way, for a child the most uncomfortable feeling is to sleep with that irritation and wet feeling due to frequent urination. As a child, cannot speak and it is only with the actions of the child and the child’s behavior that a mother understands, what the child needs.  And as a mother although you want to be awake all night and be there for your child, your body does not allow you to do so and so you also need to ensure you have a good night’s rest. And this is when the diapers do their work.

For me personally, diapers do the work, when I am off to bed to refuel my body. The diapers help your child enjoy that good night sleep without any disturbance and any irritation in the middle of the night. And so this is one of my bed time rituals that I follow by ensuring that my child is changed to a new diaper before he is put to sleep. This really helps my little one to enjoy his sleep without any irritation of that wet feeling or itching. Hello folks! How often are women subjected to one dimensional labels? It is very easy to categorise them and subject them to such labels! If you are a good housewife then you are not a good employee. If you are a fashion designer, you probably were never interested in your studies. I ask why? The world has changed, do people realize that? Do people realize that we are a lot better off than the yester generations? Do people realize that getting 90% does not necessarily mean that their child will take science despite being interested in commerce? We are no more stereo typical as we may be used to be earlier. The world has changed and everyone is gaining pace.

So here is my #UseYourAnd story. This is a story of a near and a dear one. She got married at an early age. Due to family pressure and a good rishta she agreed to get married. Well she did adjust to all the family norms. She abided by every family tradition very well. She although happy with her marriage always kept wondered of her identity? Her husband was a CEO and her brother-in-law an engineer. Her in-laws were part of NGOs and preferred spending most of their time there. Now the question was who was she? What was her identity?

It was six months later that she finally found answer to this question of hers. It was finally the day she realized that she could be more than just a housewife. She loved to be with her family, no doubts about that but all she wanted was an identity for herself to. This is when she put her degree to use and got herself a teachers job. It is the best she says it has suitable work timing. Nothing really has to suffer is what she confirms. Neither her work nor her house. Everyone in her family were also very happy with this decision of hers. She was the happiest of all because finally she was not just a housewife but now also a teacher. Because we women are not to be subjected to those on-dimensional labels, there is a lot more to us. 

Things that define me

There are a lot of things that make us who we are. It is not just our good looks that make us a good human being, right? It takes a lot of things to be a good human being like good nature, helping attitude, care and a lot of other things.

Well a lot of people say that what is difficult for human beings is to be human. My question is why? Why do we humans forget humanity? What is the purpose of our life if we cannot serve the society or do any good to mankind?

Well I am not a social worker or one of those women who spend evenings at the NGOs. I am somebody who cares for the society and who is human. Yes in my opinion, the first thing that should define anybody is humanity. We are all here for a purpose, if well we cannot serve the society where we live our very existence is pointless.

The next thing that defines me is my calm and patient nature. Well I have always believed that if you can talk and blabber you should also be ready to listen to the others. It is very important to be a good listener and I think I do hear people out. This I think is utmost important because misunderstandings happen mainly because the person did not listen to the other or refuse to do so. So hear people out, it’s a good thing to do. I am very calm and patient and this I have learnt from my mother. We women are quite often subjected to various quarrels or many a times these one dimensional labels. It is very easy for everybody to call us (women) names and try to categorize us. What is important is that we should not give up on our patience. Irrespective of what people say, we should stay determined and never lose our calm. I am not saying that don’t fight any argument or anything but all that I am saying is that hear people out, care less and be more determined.

Human, calm, kind and patient. This defines me as a woman.

Pimple Problem

Holla folks! Pimple here, pimple there, pimple everywhere. This is every teenager's story, ain't it?

Okay I do know that they are a part of growing up and all of that but still they make one look so ugly no! Everybody has had pimple problems and I am confident when I say that nobody likes or wants them. So pimples, when you all are so unwanted and hated, why don't you just go like go away and never come back you ugly thing!

It was a dream date. My long time crush had finally asked me out. I being a little shy couldn't take the first step so I waited until he did. Everything was set, it was all well planned. Right from what I was going to wear to what was I gifting him. We had decided to have our first date on a roof top of one of the best restaurants, a little over budget it was but he said that he had been planning this long. So it was all going very well and it was almost like a fairy tale.

Well well, every story has a villain. So was in my case. IT WAS A PIMPLE, a big and a ugly one. As I already mentioned I am a little shy anyway and with this pimple on my face I had just given up on my confidence. My morale was shattered. The day I had been waiting for since many years was finally here but this pimple just came in and shattered all my dreams. I didn't want to go on my first date with a pimple on my face. EWWW..

So I did what I still regret of. I cancelled the date :( I had to cancel my dream date only because of a pimple on my face. Never after that did we go on a date, he thought I was making excuses. Well boy! I too was dying to have that date with you (somebody please tell him)
